Course Introduction
Advanced technologies will be critical to stopping climate change. A key to achieving this goal is innovation, whether to develop and refine technologies or to achieve cost and production-capacity breakthroughs. With the effects of climate change growing more apparent, innovation is expected to play a major role in enabling national and subnational decarbonization processes. Recent developments present both private and public sectors with different technological approaches from low or non-carbon technologies to mitigate sources of greenhouse gases (GHG), to carbon capture and storage innovations to address the consequences of global warming.
Actions to stimulate low-carbon innovation – a global policy priority – are moving full speed ahead. With the planet heating up, leaders, innovators and entrepreneurs have an opportunity to create business sustainability initiatives that drive toward net zero emissions and improve our resilience to the changing climate. From impact investing to clean tech, climate innovations are transforming businesses; and Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) assets are on track to exceed $50 trillion by 2025.
By attending this programme, participants will learn the foundations of climate science and its applications for combating climate change. By exploring recent climate innovation case studies, you will develop new frameworks and strategies for leading impactdriven initiatives that drive business value and create a carbon-neutral world.
